It's not like I've ever been afraid to write bad reviews before, but I'm sorry about this one. I have little doubt that the author is a lovely person.

Once the above mentioned books/ screenplay get published, I would be so upset if anyone gave them less than 3 stars. I'm genuinely amazed by people who have stories in their heads and manage to put them to paper in such entertaining ways. I've read 2 of her books, 1 book from another friend (hi!), and I've also read a screenplay from another friend none of which are published yet. I just finished reading a book that my amazing sister wrote. (That, any my oldest son got a job that takes me away from home nearly every night. I haven't updated any of my books on here recently, and it's because I've been procrastinating this review. But, it can be equally enjoyable for an adult too.ĭefinitely recommended to all age groups. It's a very clever book, and I can imagine there would be a lot of topics to talk about when a kid reads this.

It's a true adventure that also fictionalizes how the famous Frankenstein was written by Shelley. It's a Gothic tale, that had chilling moments, ethnic diversities, scientific experiments, sadness, hope, and more. From the first moment, I was very intrigued with the opening and I couldn't put this book down at any minute. At the end of the book, we come back to the present day again and this structure worked perfectly, to make the story very interesting. This made me really happy because I'm a fan and Frankenstein is my all-time favourite book :) Then, it goes back for us to go into the events that brought us to the present day.

The story starts from present-day where we have also Mary Shelly and her family as characters. It's a historical setting and our main characters are two sisters, Lizzie and Peg. It was my first experience reading Emma Carroll, and it won't be the last for sure. This was truly an amazing middle-grade book.
